Arrive Naples
Our trip starts in Naples. We’ll meet you at our accommodation. After a meet and greet with our fellow Conqueror Adventurers, we’ll set off for a walk around this amazing ancient city.
Founded by Greeks in the first millennium BC, Naples is one of the oldest continuously inhabited urban areas in the world. Blessed with rich volcanic soils, a bountiful sea, and countless generations of culinary know-how, the Naples region is one of Italy’s epicurean heavyweights, as well as a living masterpiece when it comes to architecture, ancient ruins and piazzas.

Explore Mount Vesuvius
Looming large over Naples is Mount Vesuvius – one of only two active volcanos in Continental Europe and standing at 1281 meters above sea level. This iconic volcano’s symmetrical central cone and steep slopes are our destination this morning. We’ll embark on a short walk to the rim of the volcano and stare deep into the crater and out across Naples.
In AD79, Mount Vesuvius erupted, blowing the entire top of the mountain off, sending rocks, ash and dust over 10 miles into the sky and rained down on Pompeii for nearly a full day, burying it underneath millions of tonnes of volcanic debris.
Later, we’ll head to the village of Agerola, high above the Amalfi Coast, overlooking the Bay of Salerno and our home for the next two nights.

Hike Monte Tre Calli
Today we’ll hike the highest peaks of the Amalfi Coast. After breakfast, we’ll stroll through the charming village of Bomerano – also known locally as “little Switzerland”. We’ll continue through vineyards and chestnut tree forests, as the trail steepens. The forested slopes give way to sub-alpine tundra and we’ll eventually reach the ridge of Monte Tre Calli – standing at 1122 meters above sea level. You’ll feel like you can reach out and touch the ocean from this spectacular point with jaw-dropping views of the Mediterranean and Sorrento Peninsula .
We’ll continue along this incredible ridgeline soaking in the views, before a picnic lunch. We’ll take our time to descend back down to the coast and rest up before dinner.

Hike Torre dello Ziro & Valle dei Mulini. Free Afternoon
This morning we’ll start in the backstreets of Amalfi and hike up to the village Pontone. We’ll follow a narrow trail beneath rows of pine trees and through fields of wildflowers.
From here we’ll continue to the famous watchtower – Torre dello Zirro, which served as the lookout point for sea attacks on the Republic of Amalfi in the Middle Ages. We’ll continue on to the shaded Valle dei Mulini (Valley of the Watermills). Here we’ll find remnants of Europe’s earliest paper mills, strewn among thick foliage fed by the valley’s streams. Keep an eye out for local lemon growers carrying their harvest in baskets on their heads!
We’ll head back down to Amalfi where you’ll have the afternoon free for beach time.

Hike and explore Capri Island
Mighty cliffs, shard-like rock formations, crashing blue seas, and tight pathways all characterize our trip to Capri Island today.
After breakfast we’ll take a short boat ride to the Island and hike a circuit passing Villa Jovis – the ruins of the most impressive Roman villa on the island and once home to Emperor Tiberius. We’ll continue through winding alleyways in the village of Capri and onto the high pathways overlooking a breathtaking coastline with blue grottoes and hidden coves.
There’s time to dip our feet (or swim if you’re game!) before embarking back on a boat back to Amalfi.

Hike to Ravello
Today we walk to the charming historic village of Ravello, a highlight of the Amalfi Coast. The first very scenic stretch of this walk is to the beautiful little town of Atrani, with great views of the town centre. Atrani is the best-preserved town on the Amalfi Coast, with narrow little streets and a serene town square. We'll continue on to the Valle del Dragone (‘Valley of the Dragon’) up to the beautiful village of Ravello. The French novelist, André Gide, once described the town as being ‘closer to the sky than the seashore’. Ravello is still one of the most exclusive villages of the Amalfi Coast and we we'll have the chance to visit the dramatic gardens of Villa Cimbrone. We'll have some free time for exploring more of Ravello and the charming cafès lining the main square.
Later we'll descend towards the relaxing hamlet of Torello overlooking the Amalfi Coast with views of the coastal villages Minori and Maiori. We'll head down through through the typical olive and lemon groves to Castiglione and from there take one of the most panoramic staircases leading straight down into Atrani again.
In the evening, we meet up again for our final dinner on the Amalfi Coast!
